Getting them to stand up for themselves means showing them the way.

We’re a district full of experience. We’ve been there and done it before so it’s up to us to pass the skills on and be the best we can be.

Leading the way are our team of lead volunteers who between them manage our volunteers so they can be the best they can be while also helping to shout about what we do. Take a look below at some of the important people in our district.

Trustees

Our trustees make sure that we follow our scout values and meet our charitable purpose. Ultimately, they help change the lives of all the young people we work with.

As well as the chairperson, treasurer and secretary, there are representatives covering all our activities directly controlled by the District such as 14-24 programme provision, campsite, support teams and communications.

Scouts is all about our young people. We’re here to help them grow, to become the shapers and to stand up for change. Our adults have fun and change themselves, but we know the real reason why we do it. It’s important that their voice is heard at the highest levels, so we have a District Youth Lead, Michael Doncom, who speaks up for everyone aged 4-25. Find out more about this on the Youth Shaped Scouting page.
