Access to this website is provided by New Forest District Scout Council (hereafter called New Forest Scouts). We are part of the UK Scout Association and follow the policy, organisation and rules of the association but are a separate charity with its own board of trustees. This website can be found at www.newforestscouts.org.uk.
These terms apply to your use of this website from the first time you use it. All users are bound by all of these terms and conditions and if you disagree with any of these then your access to this site is not permitted. We may need to change these terms and conditions from time to time so you should check back on a regular basis to ensure you agree to them.
This website is here to provide information about Scouting in the northern and western parts of the New Forest, to advise others on the benefits of becoming a Scout and volunteering with the Scouts and providing information so others can contact the district or their local group should they wish to.
Code of Conduct
You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the website. Prohibited behaviour includes harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within the website.
Contributions to the website and emails
You agree to use the website (including communication tools like email facilities) in accordance with the following community rules which apply across all the website. Your contributions and emails:
- must be civil, tasteful and patient with other users. Users may be of different ages, abilities and experience.
- must not be disruptive, offensive or abusive. Contributions need to be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
- must not be unlawful or objectionable. This includes harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material.
- must not contain spam or off-topic material or contain advertising or promotion of a business.
- must not impersonate or claim to be contributed by another.
Remember to be cautious about the personal information you reveal online.
By law you must not submit or share any defamatory or illegal material of any nature (including text, graphics, video, programs or audio) or contribute material to any website community with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act.
If you breach these rules then we may contact you explaining why your contribution has been refused or edited. We may issue a warning or take action including temporary or permanent suspension from the contributing to the site. If you submit or share offensive or inappropriate content to this website or otherwise take part in disruptive behaviour on the website, and New Forest Scouts considers such behaviour to be serious and/or repetitive, we may provide information about the infringement to relevant third parties as required by statute. We reserve the right to delete any contribution at any time, for any reason.

This website is copyright of New Forest District Scout Council and includes trademarks belonging to both New Forest Scouts and to The Scout Association. Any copyrights and trademarks belonging to the Scout Association are used correctly with permission.
By law you must not violate, plagiarise, or infringe the rights of New Forest Scouts, the Scout Association or third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights. You must only submit or share contributions which are your own original work.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use website content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use or non-commercial use directly related to Scouting within the UK. You also agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any website content except for your own personal use. Any other use of the website content requires the prior written permission of New Forest Scouts.
The names, images and logos identifying the Scout Association (including Scout Store, Unity Insurance Services, Scout Adventures) or third parties are subject to copyright, design rights and trade marks of those parties. Contributions to the website
These rules mostly apply to logged in users who are adding content to the website. This is because we do not turn on comments by default as this website is not intended for a conversation. You are welcome to email us if you have questions.
By sharing any contribution (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio) with us you agree to grant to us free of charge, permission to use the material. This may include changing it or adapting it to make better use of it or sharing it to the media or other parts of the Scouts, primarily Hampshire Scouts and the Scout Association. The copyright of your contribution will remain with you and you can continue to use the material in any way including allowing others to use it.

The content and management of this website is by Scouting volunteers and the views expressed are theirs and not necessarily that of New Forest Scouts or the Scout Association.
