What do they do?
The District Leadership Team leads and inspires volunteers to give young people great experiences and skills for life.
They make sure their District teams are organised, have enough volunteers, and can deliver a great programme.
Who’s on the team?
Our District Leadership Team is made up of our Lead Volunteers, our Youth Lead, the Team Leaders of our other district teams and the Lead Volunteers from our 12 Scout Groups.
Our Lead Volunteers
We have two Lead Volunteers, who together act as figureheads for our district:
Kevin Harmer
Part of the Copythorne family, Kevin is a passionate supporter of the Cub Scout section and of the Young Leader’s scheme. Spot him at the Copythorne Carnival and all the community events they run each year.
Kevin looks after (specific point of contact):
- Lyndhurst, Netley Marsh, Burley, Sandleheath, Fordingbridge and Forest Sandle Manor Scout groups.
- Scout Active Support.
- The Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scout Network district leads and District Youth Lead.
- Leads the All Leaders Meetings and District Team meetings.
- Supports Tails of the New Forest and District events
- Acts as Safety Lead
- Investitures
- Joint responsibility for District Development Plan and monthly training compliance
Robin Mair
A champion of the outdoors and sleeping away from home, Robin has been involved with the Scouts, especially around Lyndhurst, for many years encouraging a love of the outdoors and teaching skills for life.
Robin looks after (specific point of contact):
- Copythorne, Ashurst and Colbury, Eling, Testwood, Ringwood and Poulner Scout groups.
- Explorer Scout Units and Young Leaders.
- The Scout section, Inclusion, Development district leads.
- Contributes to Board of Trustees and County Cluster meetings.
- Investitures
- Acts as Safeguarding Lead, Permits Approver, Nights Away Approver and Risk Assessment approver.
- Acts as Resolutions Lead and leads on training compliance.
- Jointly responsible for the District Development Plan and monthly training compliance
