A very busy week!

Santa Run

Another very successful event organised by Craig and Sarah at the 5th Testwood, there are some fab pictures on the Southern Daily Echo website, can’t think who this is though!

Santa run saw 326 runners of all ages, with support from across the district both helping on the day and taking part in the run. We also had several scouts set up stalls at the Fayre to raise money for their upcoming expeditions. Early indications are we made £1200 which when added to our bag pack is a nice Christmas bonus for the group. Photos of the event can be found on their Facebook page.

Chief Scout Awards

Jake Beech, our District Youth Commissioner, went to 1st Lyndhurst Scouts on Friday and presented Gold Chief Scout Awards to Isaac and Joseph. A huge well done to them both on achieving their awards and also to Jake for presenting them in his first ‘official’ presentation as District Youth Commissioner. Please ask Jake to your events as he is keen to be involved across all sections.

DC Robin went along to 6th Netley Marsh Beavers on Tuesday and presented 7 Bronze Chief Scout Awards to Noah, Joey, Max, Ben, Liam, Olly and Sebi. The Beaver leaders are so proud that they managed to complete the highest award in Beavers and they are all carrying on their scouting journey into Cubs.

Village Fun Day

On Saturday, 1st Lyndhurst Scout Group helped run a stall for Lyndhurst Village Christmas Fun Day. They ran a cake and game stall to raise funds for 2 causes and also ran the Village Lights Tombola stall.

The 2 causes were Tanzania 2020 and ‘4 Louis’ which is charity to help families to cope after stillbirth. The scout group had an excellent day promoting both the causes and raising funds. DC Lynn was amazed at what ‘4 Louis’ provides in the way of cold cots and cold blankets so parents can spend more time with their beautiful babies. Please donate if you can via https://4louis.co.uk/

Christingle

DC Ian attended the District Beaver Christingle service at St. Anne’s Church, thank you to Jo, our ADC Beavers, and all our Beaver leaders for keeping the traditional service going.

Finally
