Do you have a home for the Scout band?
The Stanley’s Own Scout and Guide Band are growing in numbers and have now outgrown the Explorer Den at Copythorne which they have been using. They meet on Thursdays between 1900 and 2100 and unfortunately Cubs are in the main hall then.
Is there an empty Scout HQ on a Thursday evening within the District? If you can help then please contact Joy Sellwood via [email protected].
Chief Scout’s Award Activity Day
This is taking place on Sunday 29th March 2020 at Ferny Crofts, this is a free event and is to recognise the fantastic achievements of our young people gaining their awards.
I will send out the invite letter and activity form to relevant leaders in the next day or two.
Annual Census
Just a reminder to provide your Group Scout Leader with your section’s information so they can complete their Group’s census return to District. I know it is yet another job to do but it is important we meet the submission deadlines. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Training
A reminder that the Multi Module training weekend on the 7th & 8th March still has spaces, so for those of you that require the training please sign up via the link.
This is non-residential training and you can sign up for as many or few as you like. First Aid will be run on both days. On Saturday, Mandatory Safety & Safeguarding are available.
For Executive Committee members a Module 01E is on the Saturday. A new OSM Workshop will be run on both days. The newer updated version of Module 7 ‘Scouting for All’ is on the Saturday and on Sunday there is now a new Module 36 ‘Additional Needs’, this has been unavailable for a long time and has been completely re-written.
District Directory
Group Scout Leaders will be asking all sections for their contact details for the 2020 District Directory. In the new edition we will still publish meetings days and times, so please check that any changes you may have are included.
The adult information will only include, name, role, email address and a preferred contact phone number. Addresses will no longer be published. Please help us to have a meaningful directory by agreeing to this small amount of information to be shared within the District.
