We have had another excellent round of awards, firstly congratulations to Paul Stubbington, AESL with Magellan Unit, on being awarded the Silver Acorn. We have yet to pin Paul down to present the award, I believe the football scuppered the last attempt. Well done Paul, very much deserved for all you give to Scouting, both in our District and internationally.

Congratulations to Fran Joyce, Section Assistant 5th Discovery Cub Pack, on her Award for Merit, well done Fran. Fran has supported the Cub Packs at the 5th for over 20 years so very much deserved.

The invitations to the 2021 Soap Box Derby have been sent out to GSLs & ESLs to circulate. John has asked us to extend the invitation to New Forest West ahead of our merger, we hope this will be the first of many events in the new ‘New Forest’ District.

The event is open to Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network & Leaders and is always a great fun family day.

Chief Scout’s Award Day

The New Forest North Chief Scout’s Awards Presentation & Activity Day will be held at Ferny Crofts on Sunday 10th October 2021.

Please circulate this date to your CSA recipients so they can get it in their diaries, this is for those achieving:

Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond & Young Leader Buckle

The last CSA day was held on 4th November 2018, so please invite all those achieving an award since that date. The format will be as previous years, Ian will get the invite letter and activity form out to you in due course.

We can now share a District Diary of events again, attached is the latest version starting from September. If I have missed anything please let me know and I can update it.

Ahead of the merger date, Steven Osborn has kindly renamed the New Forest North website to New Forest, this is the link: New Forest Scouts.

Please send articles for eNews with pictures (if permission has been given) to the Team DC mailbox. [email protected]

The eNews also gets uploaded to the District website so please share this link with parents so they can see what else is going on in the District.
