Thank you to everyone who attended the District All Leaders meeting on Thursday, held virtually due to the roadworks on the A31 affecting those crossing the forest. Below we have some brief minutes from the meeting.
Round-up from Robin
- The last round of Length of Service awards had been received by Robin and she will be distributing these as soon as he can.
- A District Camp is being planned for the first May Bank Holiday of 2028 – Friday 28th to Monday 1st May 2028. Details will follow.
- Joy and the Scout Active Support unit have run the Founder’s Day event for the District for a number of years now and are seeking new ideas to increase attendance and make it a more relevant celebration of Scouting. The current format is a quiz and afternoon tea to bring generations together.
- Charley Gradidge has stood down as the District’s Inclusion lead due to a change in her personal circumstances. We thank Charley for all the support she has offered and will begin to look for a replacement shortly.
- Barry Stride has also stood down as the team lead of the Scouts programme sub-team, we thank Barry for all his efforts to increase the adventure and Scouting skills offering to the troops.
- Pegasus Scout Network has officially been closed down after a year of dormancy. An agreement has been formed with Southampton City Network so that any 18-25 year old members who wish to take part can join their Network, otherwise for those towards the Dorset border, Bournemouth Network is also an option.
District Expedition
A video presentation was shared by Craig Challis of the District Expedition in 2025 ahead of the launch of the 2027 expedition due to take place next year between the 24th and 30th October. We are seeking options to share this with others so it can be shown locally.
Section breakouts and diary updates
Breakout rooms for the 4-14 sections were held to discuss future events and review past ones.
Dates mentioned in those section breakouts to Steven have also been added to the District Diary, added below.
