Monday was the 5th NFN (Testwood)’s AGM, attended by Robin and Lynn. I was fortunate to present Harry Cotton, ASL at the 5th, with his Young Leader Buckle, well done to Harry on achieving this Top Award. Harry and Max Simes were then invested into their role by Robin so we also welcome Harry & Max into the 5th’s Scout Troop leadership team. We had a lovely evening, with the AGM held in the open air due to a power cut. However power returned in time for tea and some lovely homemade cakes by Lisa Szymanski. We were so pleased to hear the achievements of the sections during the last year.

I am also pleased to be able to tell you that we have some excellent new members on the District Leadership Team. I am sure you will join us in welcoming and supporting them in their new roles:

  • Simon Down, Group Skills Instructor and previously Scout Leader at the 5th, has agreed to be Assistant District Commissioner for Scouts.
  • Jake Beach, Assistant Scout Leader at the 4th Eling, has agreed to be our District Youth Commissioner.
  • Richard White, Cub Scout Leader at the 4th Eling, has agreed to take over from Ian Sims as Assistant District Commissioner for Cubs.
  • Steven Osborn, Beaver Scout Leader at the 5th Testwood, will become our District Scout Network Commissioner.
