Our first expedition.

The Lake District is home to stunning mountains, seemingly endless lakes and some of the best scenery in these fair isles. What could be better than a week walking through them, maybe climbing your first mountain.

When we’re not walking then we’ll be taking part in adventurous activities, staying in comfortable lodgings and generally having an amazing time.

So if you’re interested then get in touch! There are only 30 spaces so get your skates on. Email Kerie for more information ([email protected]) or message the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nfndistrictexpedition).

When:

Saturday 21st October to Sunday 29th October 2017 (During October half term week 2017)

Open to Scouts and Explorer Scouts from the New Forest North district.

Where:

Our base for the week will be Great Tower Scout Adventure Centre on the shores of Lake Windemere in the Lake District.

We will be sleeping in Cartmel Lodge. It is a scandanavian-style chalet complete with central heating, kitchen and shower facilities. See the Great Tower website for more details about the lodge.

The cost:

The expedition costs £200 per person.

This includes transport to the Lake District, the indoor accommodation at Great Tower, food for the week, the costs of the main activities during the week and for the training before the event.

Anything else?

This expedition is all about adventure and about trying something new. This trip will allow many to stand on their first mountain, to be trained in life-saving skills and to start a new hobby.

It’s not just walking either. We’ll be taking part in lots of extra activities such as climbing, abseiling, swimming, wide games and a night hike and you’ll be able to visit a Mountain Rescue centre as part of the trip.

You’ll also be able to work towards your Hillwalker activity badge (click here for Scouts badge and here for Explorer Scouts badge) as well as getting more Hikes and Nights away.
