First the good news, we have 24 young people who have been accepted on either the 26th World Jamboree to Poland or Hampshire’s P27. In addition we have 4 leaders also.

In recent years we have been approached by some young people, and adults, for help with the finances and we have always tried to support them. Unfortunately, with so many going and with finite resources this is unlikely to be possible this time.

The Board of Trustees have decided to only help those in exceptional circumstances. If there are exceptional circumstances there may be hardship grants available both at District and County level. To apply at District level they will need to approach the Board of Trustees. This can be done through the Secretary, Sara Le Bas.

A big part of the Jamboree experience is the fund-raising element and we would like to offer support with this. As all participants will be aware there are many resources on the Scout Association website to help with this.

In addition, please see below a number of events in the district which may be able to offer fund raising activities:

  • Picnic in the Park – Lyndhurst
  • Donkey Derby – Eling Rec.
  • Copythorne Carnival/Steam Rally/ Fun Run
  • Netley Marsh Carnival
  • Netley Marsh Steam Rally
  • New Forest Show
  • Ellingham Show
  • Fordingbridge Show
  • Ringwood Carnival
  • Pedal Car event – Ringwood
  • Lyndhurst Bonfire & Fireworks Night
  • Colbury & Ashurst Xmas Fayre
  • Totton Santa Run
  • Various other Fayre’s run at Copythorne Parish Hall and or Netley Marsh Church Hall
  • New Forest Lions Club
  • New Forest Mummers
  • New Forest Rotary

I am sure there will be opportunities within Groups to also support fund raising.

Thank you for all you are doing to support our young people
