Welcome to Edition 32 of Tails of the New Forest. This month in Tails, we prepare to the return of term, of school and of Scouting for most of us. Many of our volunteers have taken a break and come back with fresh ideas ready for more. But first, a big thanks you:

What’s coming up?

What’s been happening?

We may have lost one District event this month due to poor weather causing a soft racing surface for our soap boxes, but we’ve still been busy enough! It all started with our Leaders skills weekend, attended by volunteers from every section from Squirrels to Network. Good job everyone!

Volunteers from across the District came together to help guide and teach our promising new leaders of the future from both our district and others across Hampshire in our annual residential Young Leaders Module B-K weekend:

Ferny Crofts’ Fun Days returned with the Squirrels Fun Day seeing familiar faces from Copythorne for the 3rd event, and Beavers getting their own day too for the first time on the Sunday:

The Cubs at Testwood took part in their well-established Hike-Overs this month where they hiked from Lyndhurst to their hall for a sleepover afterwards:

There was a whole host of skills on display at Testwood at the end of this month:

Pegasus Scout Network were back over the summer including paddle boarding:

And we offer our congratulations and support to Dwayne Fields, our new Chief Scout:

Remember you can stay up to date with what’s going on on our Facebook page (/newforestscouts) or Instagram (@newforestscouts). Plus if you’re a volunteer you can be part of the Facebook group for members too. Do remember to share your stories with us throughout the month so we can share them directly and keep having great Scouting adventures.

Robin and Kevin.
