Grab the adventure and jump straight in. A first for the larger New Forest District, we’re heading to the Lake District with Scouts and Explorers on a big district expedition. It’s a great chance to learn some skills for life and discover your limits.
Email Kerie for more information ([email protected]) or message the Facebook page (New Forest Scouts District Expedition).

Sunday 22nd October – Saturday 28th October 2023. October half term.
Open to all Scouts and Explorers from across the New Forest district.
Where:
As last time, we’re taking over Scout Adventures Great Tower in the Lake District. On the banks of Lake Windemere, the stunning, famous and large lake at the heart of the Lake District National Park. We’ll be using the indoor lodges for accommodation.
The cost:
The expedition costs £250 per person.
This includes transport to and from the Lake District, indoor accommodation at Great Tower, food for the event and costs for the main activities on the event including the caving.
What’s happening:
This expedition is all about adventure and about trying something new. This trip will allow many to stand on their first mountain, to be trained in life-saving skills and to start a new hobby. Truly skills for life.
It’s not just walking either. We’ll be taking part in lots of extra activities through the trip such a caving.
You’ll also be able to work towards your Hillwalker activity badge (click here for Scouts badge and here for Explorer Scouts badge) as well as getting more Hikes and Nights away. Plus it’s a chance for Scouts to complete their Expedition challenge award.
